April 13, 2011

Artwork will adorn posters and t-shirts

Turtle Watch, South Walton Community Council, and the Merchants of Gulf Place gratefully acknowledge Walton County elementary school art teachers Constance Rogers, Laurie Hudson, and Jennifer Bush for their participation in the Turtle Fest 2011 poster art contest held recently for area students.

A winner was chosen from each school participating and will be placed on the Turtle Fest posters and t-shirts. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go to Turtle Watch, a not-for-profit volunteer program to preserve and protect sea turtles along South Walton’s beaches.

The original art will be on display at the Turtle Festival at Gulf Place on Sat., Apr. 30 from l – 6 p.m. To learn more about the upcoming festival click here.

Congratulations go to all three winners: Van R. Butler Elementary, Chloe St. Aubin ( 4th Grade); Freeport Elementary, Monica Morgan ( 3rd grade); and Bay Elementary, Elan Camaret ( 1st grade). Each winner will receive $25, a T shirt with their art on it, and their art matted and framed.
