Students experience an action-packed week-long camp

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches are hosting a week-long camp designed to bolster safety and fun on the Florida Youth Ranches property across from Maude Saunders Elementary School in DeFuniak Springs.

“This event teaches children the importance of teamwork and patience,” said Sgt. Danny Garner. “The free weeklong camp also focused on safety and self-esteem building.”

The action-packed, fun filled five-day camp is offered to students ages six to 12. The camp includes law enforcement demonstrations, games, water activities, workshops, team sports, group building, environmental education and more. The next “Harmony in the Streets” youth camp event is scheduled June 20 – 24.

The mission of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is to prevent delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient, and productive citizens who will make a positive contribution to our communities for years to come.

Call the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (850) 892-8186 to register.
