Fishing is great with snapper being caught offshore – shellcracker, warmouth bass in the river

Fresh: River is good!  Lots of shellcracker, warmouth bass, bream and catfish

Bay: Large trout are being caught along with redfish, black drum and some lady and blue fish.

Saltwater:  The feds have opened back up a large section and fishing is great! Snapper season is open and folks are catching their limits along with king and Spanish mackerel.

Danny Copeland wants to tell folks to remain optimistic and keep a positive attitude.

“If you think BP and the feds are going to completely take care of you, your nuts. You are the captain of your own ship,” Danny said.

Note: Currently Walton County off shore waters are offering great fishing opportunities with no effects from the oil spill.
