Walton County fishing report for Jan. 11

January 11, 2012

Fishing is good!

Choctawhatchee Bay: Good along the mouths of the creeks and rivers.
Creeks/river: Redfish starting to pick up. Folks catching them on or near the bottom. Large numbers biting on bouncing grubs or zoom flutes. Still good numbers of speckled trout along with some folks catching a few sheepshead.

Danny Copeland wants to remind folks that the contrary to what FWC has stated about not printing the regulation books, plenty of the new 2012 books have been delivered to the shop. Come by and pick one up. Also, a reminder that new regulations include no closure of season for trout and redfish limit has been upped to two.
