Walton County fishing report for Aug. 21

Gag grouper season open, redfish, black drum in the Bay!

Salt: Been catching some black grouper in the 24 inch size range. Also catching triggerfish, vermillion and black snapper. Chasing a few amberjacks as there is lots of bait fish in the Gulf.

Bay: Redfish everywhere, catching with live shrimp. Speckled trout, bluefish, skip jacks, and flounder with Krocodile spoons, red gig with white body. Some good size black drum being caught along the causeway. Lots of bait in the Bay.

River: Folks catching a few bass. River getting low again.

Surf: Folks are catching some pompano. Get out your sand flea rakes!

Fishing doesn’t get any better than this folks!
