Fresh:  Lots of crappie being caught, as good as it can get. Some shellcracker being caught as well.

Hunting: Bow season opened on Wildlife Management areas and on Eglin Reservation last week. Lots of hunters didn’t know that as it was not published in the FWC book, only the WMAs and Eglin books. State and private land opens Oct. 23.
