X-Treme Cuisine – June 27–29
Travel the globe with 4H during our X-TREME CUISINE day camp! This is an all-time FAVORITE day camp we bring back each year with different highlighted countries! Youth are fully immersed in the country of the day through sight, sound and taste. 4-H makes “Learning by Doing” fun by teaching youth cooking safety, kitchen/knife skills, and recipe prep and measurements. Also during X-TREME CUISINE, youth learn the food, industry, culture, customs and even language from all the countries they “visit” during this week. For Ages 8-18 (As of September 1, 2016).
“SEW” Funtastic – July 6
Youth will learn sewing skills from hand stitching to sewing machines! They will learn parts of their machines and how to thread and maintain their machines at home for future projects! This camp IS NOT geared toward intermediate or advanced sewers, it is strictly for youth who have no or minimal sewing experience! For Ages 8-18 (As of September 1, 2016).
Tailgator Camp – July 10-12
Campers will spend three days with 4-H learning all there is to know about grilling in order to prepare them for the District Tailgating Challenge July 22nd. Youth will learn how to light a grill, how to maintain a grill fire/temperature, how to prepare different proteins (beef, pork, poultry, seafood), make their own spice rubs, food safety in prep and storage, food presentation, and much more! For ages 10-18 (As of September 1, 2016).
Build-A-Bot – July 25-27
If you can dream it, we can make it at the 4-H Build-a-Bot day camp! This day camp will be loaded with STEM activities to teach youth about the basics of robotics and how to “Build-a-Bot” out of items you can find in your parents junk drawer at home. This can also prepare youth to compete in the Junk Drawer Robotics Curriculum at the North Florida Fair in Tallahassee. Youth will make flashlights, robo-toothbrushes and more. For Ages 8-18 (As of September 1, 2016).
