United Way kicks off Coats For Kids Drive

November 8, 2010

Donate a new or gently used coat and help keep a child warm this winter

The United Way of Okaloosa-Walton Counties, in partnership with A & A Transfer & Storage and Bangkok Cleaners, are hosting their annual coat drive…Coats for Kids at Christmas to help children in need in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Thanks to the support of local banks and businesses, last year over 1,650 coats were cleaned and distributed to many families throughout the community and schools.

Help them provide a warmer holiday season for many children within our communities. Anyone that would like to participate in this wonderful event may do so by dropping off new coats or almost new coats from through December 3rd at the following locations: Bank of America, BankTrust, BB&T, BBVA Compass Bank, Beach Community Bank, Belk at Destin Commons, Belk at Santa Rosa Mall, Century Link, Covenant Hospice, Eglin Chapel, Eglin Federal Credit Union, First City Bank, Horizons, Northwest Florida State College, Okaloosa District Office, Premier Community Bank, Publix-Ft Walton Beach, Publix-Crestview, Publix-Destin, Regions Bank, Troy University, Trustmark Bank, Twin Cities Hospital, and Whitney
National Bank.

Volunteers will pick and deliver coats to Bangkok Cleaners in Fort Walton Beach for cleaning. Participating United Way Agencies will distribute the coats to any child at no cost to the family.

If you have any questions, please call the United Way at 243-0315.
