As we enjoy our wonderful beaches in South Walton, many visitors and locals are not aware that we are sharing vital habitat for a variety of shorebirds. State water season runs through July 14 The recreational red snapper season in Gulf state waters opens Saturday, May 24, and will remain open through July 14, a total of 52 days, closing July 15.
