Second primitive campground opens in Point Washington State Forest

The Florida Forest Service has announced the grand opening of a much-anticipated second campground at Point Washington State Forest, Eastern Lake Campground 2. New interpretive signs embellish South Walton’s coastal dune lakes

Educational interpretive signs now embellish five of the 15 coastal dune lakes in South Walton. Stallworth, Alligator, Eastern, and Deer Lakes have joined Western Lake with educational messages along the 18.6-mile Timpoochee bicycle/walking trail. Lake Powell and Camp Creek Lake discussed

Members of the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board toured Lake Powell and Camp Creek Lake on Oct. 16. Florida State Park biologist John Bente, along with Richard Bryan, of Friends of Lake Powell, discussed the health, history and the outfall of the lake.
