Program on understanding the new cottage food regulations Nov. 22

Interested in selling those preserves you canned this summer?

The University of Florida IFAS Extension office in Walton County will be offering a program on the new cottage food regulations.  Participants interested in or currently marketing processed foods are encouraged to attend.  The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at the Walton County Extension office located at 732 N. 9th Street in DeFuniak Springs.  Participants will learn about the new regulations and labeling requirements.

Florida’s new cottage food law allows foods such as breads, jams, jellies, and cakes to be made in an unlicensed home kitchen provided sales do not exceed $15,000 annually. The cost of the class is $5 per person.  For additional information or to register, contact Kendra Zamojski at Hughson@ufl.edu  or call 850-892-8172.
