Panhandle Watermelon Festival in Chipley June 25 – 26

The annual Panhandle Watermelon Festival that will take place on June 25 – 26, 2021 in Chipley. This year’s FREE concert at Jim Trawick Park on Friday, June 25th features country music stars Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Andy Griggs and Jamie O’Neal. This event is family friendly, with festival style seating.

Parade will be held on Fri., June 26 at 10 a.m. Old Chipley football field to downtown Chipley. Then evening performances at Jim Trawick Park from Jamie O’Neal, Andy Griggs, Gatlin Brothers. Gates open at 5.

The event continues Saturday, June 26 with a pancake breakfast, 5K Hot Trot, watermelon parade, classic car show, big watermelon auction, arts, crafts and food vendors at Agricultural Center on Highway 90.

Music starts with Gospel hour at 10:30 a.m., melon auction 11:30 a.m., Nashville songwriters Wendell Mobley and Lee Thomas Miller will be performing numerous number one hits that they have written for stars like Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Jamey Johnson, Jason Aldean and others on the stage of the Washington County Agricultural Center at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Larry Cordle, Val Storey, Carl Jackson.
