Sonja at Copeland’s tells me fishing has been great with folks catching speckled trout. A secret fishing hole has been revealed… Alaqua Bayou!

Hunting:

Deer hunting not just for the boys … Local teenager, Jasmine Mason, of Choctaw Beach bagged an 8 pointer at Eglin this week!

Muzzleloading gun next days open: Feb. 19 – March 1
General gun: through – Feb. 18
Quail and gray squirrel: through March 1
Bobcat and otter: through March 1
Spring turkey** March 21 – April 26,
Wild hog, rabbit, raccoon, opossum, coyote, nutria, skunk
and beaver may be taken year-round.
* Except for Holmes County where there is no fall harvest of turkeys allowed.
** Spring turkey season is limited to March 21- April 5 in Holmes County
