Nice catch!

Dan Margagliano of Miramar Beach landed these two nice grouper offshore 15 miles south of Destin with Pete Clauson on April 1.

Using mullet and cigar minnows, they also caught a few scamp and a big red snapper.

“The seas were 2-3 feet and fishing in only a 19′ center console it was a bit rough so we only fished til about noon,” Dan said.

April 1 was first day of Gulf Grouper recreational season.

Recreational and commercial harvest of shallow-water groupers remains closed until May 1.
