West Florida Canoe and Kayak Club hosting paddle down Econfina Creek
There will be a paddle from the Econfina Livery down to SR 388 Friday, July 31. Meet at the livery prior to 9:00 so we can start paddling at 9:00. There is a $5.00 fee to use the launching site, and the group will run a shuttle.
Paddle downstream and see Williford Springs and another spring group above SR 20. It is a 6 mile paddle, and the springs are in the first two miles, and then there is a four mile paddle down a very large clear stream without obstructions to the take-out.
Bring your paddling gear, lunch, mask and snorkel if you wish, cameras, sun screen, PFD, and anything else you might need for your comfort.

Take a nature walk at Grayton Beach State Park Aug. 1
Grayton Beach State Park would like to invite you to come join the Park Ranger for a guided nature walk.
Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at 8:30 a.m.
Park Admission fees do apply:
$5.00 per vehicle (8 persons per vehicle max) $2.00 per bicycle
This will be a hike through the Grayton Beach State Park Beach Ecosystem.

King of Crab Island kayak fishing tournament Aug. 1
Weigh in will be at the Crab Island Helen Back Pontoon boat. (Look for the banners). The boat will be anchored at Crab Island. Crab Island is located just north of the Destin Bridge. Park at the beach access under the bridge and launch your kayaks from there. (Yes, weigh in is ON the water so drag the catches out there for all to see) Weigh in will be from 1-3pm. There is a $5.00 charge to enter the Festival on Saturday (for 18 years and older only) Sunday is free!
