Estuary Festival to be held at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park May 2

The second annual Choctawhatchee Estuary Family Festival, a free family & community event for all ages, will be held Saturday, May 2 from 11:00 am. to 4:00 p.m. at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park, located at 4281 Highway 20 East in Niceville. There is no park entrance fee for the festival which offers fun activities, hand-on displays and environmental awareness. The event is hosted by the Mattie M. Kelly Cultural & Environmental Institute at Northwest Florida State College, with support from the Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

owlSouthern Star hosting Emerald Coast Wildlife Rescue fundraiser May 2

Join the refuge for a two hour cruise aboard The Southern Star, and help support the mission of the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge. There will be plenty of free food and beverages, entertainment and door prizes.

You will also have the opportunity to meet the Animal Ambasadors – the residents of the refuge. For tickets or more information call the refuge at 850-650-1880.

When:   Saturday May 2nd 2009, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (boarding begins at 1:45)
