The seventh annual Movies & Smore’s series at Camp Helen State Park is back and moving totally outdoors for this family fun event. The series continues with the movie “The Princess and the Frog” and they will have an interpretive display featuring information about our favorite beach creatures, sea turtles. The event will be held on Thursday, June 10 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
They will feature a different food truck each week that will be parked at Camp Helen during the late afternoon and into the evening program time with food & beverage available for purchase. The evenings begin with prepackaged smores around the bonfires and a souvenir cup for all registered attendees. Each movie will also feature an interpretive display about natural and cultural resources found in the park. All activities, including the movie will be outdoors, with the movies beginning after sunset. The program will take place outdoors around the recreation hall area.
Admission into the park for this event is free for registered attendants only, although donations are accepted. Donations will go directly to the Friends of Camp Helen State Park to benefit the park’s resource management projects and interpretive programs. Registration is required and limited to the first 50 participants due to Covid 19 restrictions. The public can register for each event by calling the park at (850) 233-5059.
