The Annual Walton Master Gardeners Tree Sale will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Fairgrounds located at 790 N 9th Street (Hwy 83) in DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433. The sale is from 9:00 a.m. until noon; arrive early for the best selection.
Fruit, shade and ornamental trees will be available at bargain prices. In addition, shrubs, vines and berry plants will be sold. All plants are chosen for their ability to do well in local gardening zones. A list of plants offered is available on the Walton County Extension Office web site http://walton.ifas.ufl.edu
Master Gardeners will be on hand to take gardening questions and will offer information on the care of trees and plants purchased. Money raised will go toward community projects such as scholarships, Habitat for Humanity landscapes, free public lecture series, and others.
The 4-H Cherokee Riders Horse Club will be serving a Pancake Breakfast next door at the Extension Office. Shoppers will be able to enjoy a hot meal before choosing their trees and plants. They will be serving pancakes, sausage, juice or coffee from 7:30 -10 a.m. for $6 a plate for adults, $3 ages 4-10 and kids 3 and under eat free.
