Kids compete for fishing bragging rights!

The third annual CCA Kids Fishing Tournament will be held at 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday, May 9 at Grayton Beach.

Sponsored by the South Walton Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, this popular tournament is for boys and girls age 15 and under. The first 250 kids will be given their own rod and reel combo, donated from the proceeds of  the “Fish Florida” specialty license tags.

The tournament will be separated into three age group divisions:
Boys: 5 years – 9 years
10 years – 12 years
13 years – 15 years

Girls: 5 years – 9 years
10 years – 12 years
13 years – 15 years

Tournament rules:
All participants shall be accompanied by an adult.
All Florida Recreational Saltwater Fishing Regulations shall apply.
All fish shall be alive at weigh-in.
Heaviest fish weighed shall determine leader in each age group.
You kill it, you eat it!

Bonus raffle:

All accompanying adults who register for a CCA Membership ($25.00) during tournament registration will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a ½ day offshore fishing trip redeemable that same day (limited to 3 kids and 1 adult).

Check-in will be at The Red Bar, located at 70 Hotz Avenue in Grayton Beach.

Yellowfin Ocean Sports in Seagrove will be supplying the bait and tackle, The Ship’s Chandler is sponsoring the weigh-in station, and Ferguson Waterworks will be supplying the PVC rod holders and leader board. Florida Fish and Wildlife will be dropping by for a demonstration of one of their boats.

The CCA is an angler advocacy group dedicated to conserving and protecting Florida’s marine fishery resources. The local South Walton chapter is lead by Santa Rosa Beach resident, Neill O’Connell.
