August 24, 2011

Games will be screened on Saturdays, Sept. 10, 17, & 24.

Lineup includes Labor Day weekend fun and college football games

Seaside is the spot for special events all year long and during the month of September, the fun continues with events for the entire family, especially the sports fanatic. Join Seaside for a Labor Day Weekend celebration complete with outdoor movies, a farmers market and special concert, plus a new event featuring major college football games on the big screen. These free, family-friendly events all occur in the Seaside Amphitheater and are open to all.

On Friday, September 2nd, bring the kids out to the Seaside Amphitheater for Central Square Cinema, our outdoor movie series, for the third film in this award winning Disney series. The movie features the voices of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and was nominated for 5 Academy Awards in 2011. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs out to grab your spot on the lawn as Seaside kicks off the holiday weekend with this great movie starting at 8:00 p.m.

The Seaside Farmers Market gets things started on Saturday, September 3rd, as this weekly market brings together some of the region’s best local produce, baked goods, dairy products, native plants, homemade soaps, fresh honey, and many other great selections. The market takes place in the Seaside Amphitheater, behind Raw & Juicy, every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information and updates on the Seaside Farmers Market, find them on Facebook.

Ryan Kinder plays Seaside Amphitheater Sept. 3.

The fun continues on Saturday, Sept. 3rd, with a special concert featuring Birmingham, Alabama native Ryan Kinder at 6:00 p.m. Ryan and his band are a group of musicians known for their bright harmonies, foot tapping rhythms, and Hendrix-esque guitar playing. Ryan is a 23-year-old University of Alabama student, already has two albums under his belt with a third scheduled for release in the Fall. In addition to playing with his band, Ryan is also a songwriter with Bigger Picture Records and collaborates weekly with Nashville-based musicians on multiple projects. Ryan’s guitar prowess coupled with his songwriter’s heart creates a powerful live performance that leaves fans downloading his music as soon as they have a chance. Ryan brings his talented band to the Seaside Amphitheater to help us celebrate the end of the summer season with music that will make you dance for forget all about school and work.

The Labor Day Weekend comes to a close on Sunday, Sept. 4th, with a second installment of our fantastic Central Square Cinema at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday we’ll screen another new Disney hit that is loosely based on the classic fairy tale “Rapunzel.” The film was nominated for two Golden Globe awards for “Best Animated Film” and “Best Original Song,” which was sung by one of the movie’s stars. Head down to the Amphitheater with a picnic dinner from one of our many restaurants and enjoy this feature film on the big screen under the stars.

Saturdays in September continue to provide ample opportunity for fun in Seaside with the continuation of the Seaside Farmers Market, held each Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In addition, Seaside is kicking off a new event geared towards those who love the pigskin.

Join your friends and neighbors along 30A for Seaside Tailgate! Featuring some of the country’s biggest college football games on the giant 35-foot inflatable screen at the Seaside Amphitheater. Games will be screened on Saturdays, Sept. 10, 17, & 24, and will begin at sunset. The specific games will be chosen the week of the event and will be added to the Seaside Facebook page, as well as their website (www.seasidefl.com ). Fans of the SEC, ACC, and other conferences will have the opportunity to “tailgate” with the Seaside Merchants and then head into the Amphitheater to cheer on their teams to victory. Whether you say “Roll Tide,” “War Eagle,” “Geaux Tigers,” or anything else, Seaside is the best place to catch the big game on the biggest screen.

All events are made possible by the arts and entertainment fee collected by The Merchants of Seaside. Seaside offers free parking to our guests around Central Square, Quincy Circle and Smolian Circle.
