The UF/IFAS – Walton County Extension with the Master Gardeners will hold their 7th Annual Growing Totally Tomatoes Workshop at the on Friday, April 10, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. It will be held at the Coastal Branch Extension Office, 70 Logan Lane (west off CR 283 just north of the 4-way stop).
Learn about plant selection, garden location, alternate growing spaces, soil requirements, maintenance and other topics. It is fun to grow healthy, tasty tomatoes for you and your family to enjoy.
The cost is $10 to include all materials and tomato plants to take home. Registration is required by the Monday before the workshop. Master Gardeners will be on hand to sell additional tomatoes (4 inch pot for $2 or 3 for $5) following the program and to take gardening questions. Tomato varieties include Amelia, Fletcher, German Johnson, Super Sweet 100 and Early Girl. These hybrids have been tested and grown at the University of Florida and are known to be good performers for Florida.
