Garden geeks debate in DeFuniak Springs Nov. 18

November 5, 2015

Vinegar changes the pH, add Epson salts to your roses for beautiful blooms, plant your vegetables during a full moon….do you garden by these rules? The Great American Garden series, presented by the Walton County Master Gardeners, offers the Garden Geeks Debate on garden lore, myths and beliefs on Wednesday, November 18, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the Extension Office in Defuniak Springs at 732 N 9th Street, next to the Fair Grounds. Join Andrea Schnapp, Laura Leslie-Sell and Barbara Young for this fun and lively program.  Maybe you have heard “old wives’ tales” about gardening; let’s see if they are true.

Light refreshments will be served and Master Gardeners will be on hand to take gardening questions. Soil testing supplies and instruction will be available. This is free and open to the public, however seated is limited and reservations must be made by the Monday before the lecture by contacting Cheryl at 850-892-8172, or This is a service of the University of Florida / IFAS Extension and Walton County.
