Following the parade, enjoy face painting, ornament making and story time with Mrs. Claus. At 6 p.m., enjoy the “Sounds of Christmas” at Freeport’s annual Christmas tree lighting at City Hall. Musical performances by Freeport Elementary School’s 4th Grade Show Choir, “The Sophisticats,” Discovery Time Daycare, choirs from local churches as well as various other musicians will lend their talents to the show. Concluding the musical portion of the program Miss Freeport 2013, Devin Herrington, and Little Miss Freeport 2013, Isabella Sanchez, will flip the switch to light Freeport’s beautiful Christmas tree. Refreshments will be served and of course the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus, will be there to listen to all the girls and boys wishes!
