Flood warning issued for Choctawhatchee River

Flood Warning continues from Friday Morning until at least Tuesday or until cancelled.

Moderate flooding is forecast.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage Friday morning, February 15, and continue to rise to near 16.3 feet by early Sunday morning.

At 13 feet: Low areas along BH Reddick…Rooks Bluff…Smokehouse Lake and Herring Roads in Walton County become subject to flooding. Low areas along Little Acre and Strickland Roads in Washington County become subject to flooding.

At 14 feet: Flood waters impact storage areas underneath homes on the east and west banks of the Choctawhatchee River near Bruce.

At 16.5 feet: Major glooding occurs along the east and west banks of the Choctawhatchee River from near the confluence with Holmes Creek to the Choctawhatchee Bay affecting many homes and fishing camps.
