Explore Escribano Point by kayak April 14-15

April 1, 2017

UPDATE: Event is now full. Waiting list sign up only.

2017 is the 75th Anniversary of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Wildlife Management Area system. As part of this year long celebration, Escribano Point biologists will be leading paddling adventures along the waterways of Escribano Point WMA. Escribano Point’s rich habitat mix creates year-round wildlife viewing. The diverse fresh and saltwater habitats support a variety of resident and migratory wildlife, from deer and turkey to beaver and black bear. A FREE group campsite and dinner will be provided on the Friday night when local biologists will deliver fireside talks about the area’s natural and historical features. At 6am an optional birding by kayak tour will venture out followed by a litter cleanup and FREE lunch. If there is enough interest a guide paddling tour and kayak fishing workshop will take place. FREE camping is available on Saturday night as well for those wishing to stay an extra night and explore the WMA on Sunday.

NOTE: actual times may vary during the event depending on size of group, weather etc.
