Bay Baits in Santa Rosa Beach invites anglers of all ages to fish in their first Bay Baits Inshore Classic May 19 and 20.
This Trout and Redfish tournament is set to offer prizes valued at over $3,000 dollars in Bay Baits gift certificates. Each angler may enter in either the motorized vessel or non-motorized category, and will compete to see who can bring in the heaviest trout and/or redfish. Entry into the tournament is $35 and anglers must pre-register at www.baybaits.com/bay-baits-classic.
Activities start Tuesday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. for anglers that would like a few tips before dropping their lines with a fishing seminar, which is free for those registered for the tournament and $10 for all others at The Bay restaurant.
Then, on Thursday, May 17 at 5:30 p.m., registered participants can enjoy that Captains’ Meeting & Dinner. The $25 ticket includes access to the buffet and one draft beer at The Bay.
The competition begins on May 19 at 7:00 a.m. Weigh-ins will be held both Saturday and Sunday at Bay Baits at the foot of the 331 Bridge in Santa Rosa Beach. On Sunday, May 20, the tournament will conclude with an after party from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The party will have live music, food, drinks, and an awards presentation. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate everyone who participated in the tournament!
A portion of the proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida, the state’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to marine fisheries and coastal conservation education and advocacy.
