Sustainable fruit and nut crop lecture in DeFuniak Springs

Walton County Horticulture Agent, Daniel Leonard and Master Gardener, James Williams will discuss some plants you may not think of growing here and how to keep them happy. They will cover which species and individual cultivars of the many fruit and nut crops that grow well in our area.  How about trying Pomegranates, Olives and Chestnuts in your garden?  Learn how to install a plant and have it survive despite all you do to it.

This lecture for December will be presented at the Walton Extension Office on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. The location is 732 N 9th Street in DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.

Cost of the program is $5 per person, payable at the door (cash or checks only) and will include presentation handouts and educational materials. Light refreshments will be served.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to take gardening questions. Soil testing instruction and supplies will be available for $8 including shipping.
