Polar Bear Plunge in Santa Rosa Beach Jan. 1

SWFDPolarbearsplash1The South Walton Fire District in conjunction with Gulf Place will be hosting the 4th Annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day at Ed Walline Beach Access.

Registration starts at 11 am at Gulf Place. “Plunge” starts at 1 p.m. sharp! A $20 donation is encouraged as all proceeds will benefit the SWFD Department Relations Committee (DRC). The DRC purchases fire/life safety educational-promotional items for community based educational programs that are held throughout the year. Make a splash on New Year’s Day and enjoy a bonfire, music and food.

In the event of Red Flag conditions, the plunge will relocate to the Gulf Place Community Park pool. Please follow the SWFD Facebook page for updates. In addition, The Gulf Place Facebook page will also carry all the Polar Bear Plunge updates as well.

Ed Walline beach access is located at the south end of CR393 in Santa Rosa Beach.
