Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and the South Walton Mosquito Control for Mosquito Dash, a 5K Fun Run/Walk on July 28, 2018 from 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. While on a paved trail through the park race participants will enjoy a beautiful view meandering through stations about mosquitoes and other insects and bugs. This is a true fun run with no times or bibs or chips or awards only costumes and fun.
Enjoy the fun dressed up as a mosquito or other type of insect. The four costume contest categories are Realistic Mosquito, Creative Mosquito, Realistic Insect/ Bug, Creative Insect/ Bug. There will be one winner per category. Each category winner will receive a prize. South Walton Mosquito Control District will be on site to add to the insect fun!
Those running will start at 7:15 a.m. Those walking and those running or walking with a stroller will start at 7:45 a.m. Race entrance fees are $5 for each participant. For the safety of participants dogs are not allowed on the course during the race. The first 300 race participants will get a goodie bag. Costume Contest results will be announced at 8:30a.m. along with ice cold water and soda for race participants.
All funds raised for this event will benefit the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and help them further their mission of supporting the park. Advanced online registration will be available starting July 9, 2018 at www.topsailparkfriends.org and closes on July 27, 2018. Limited race day registration will be available on a first come first serve basis between 6:30a.m. – 7:45a.m.

Regular day-use admission fees are waived for public entrance to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park through Sept. 3.
