Monarch Butterfly Tagging Festival in Panama City Beach Oct. 28

Panama City Beach Parks Department is hosting a Monarch Butterfly Tagging Festival at Conservation Park on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 12 Noon – 2 p.m.

The festival is a citizen science project where the public can get hands on experience with tagging and tracking their own butterflies. There will be educational video clips and displays as well as the live butterflies.

This year’s guests will be the Florida Native Plant Society who will be sharing information on host and nectar plants, and a new group called ‘850Rocks’ that will be painting ‘Kindness Rocks’ with the public.

Panama City Beach Conservation Park is located on Conservation Drive just north of Back Beach Road (U.S. Hwy. 98) off of State Road 79, or off of Back Beach turning on to Griffin Blvd. ::MAP::
