A Memorial Day Service will be held at the Gum Creek Cemetery located north of DeFuniak Springs off State Road 83 near Glendale, Florida. The service will be held on May 28, 2018 and will begin at 8 a.m.

The guest speaker this year will be Thomas T. Remington also known as Judge Tom Remington. Judge Remington served as a U.S. Army Infantry Platoon Commander with the 2/503 Infantry, 173rd (ABN) BGE. (SEP), Viet Nam War.

The Gum Creek Cemetery is one of the oldest in Walton County and is thought to be over 160 years old. The cemetery marks the final resting place of veterans from American’s wars all the way back to the early 19th Century, with 12 known Civil War Veterans and one confirmed Seminole War veteran.

Please join us this year and we remember all that has served and sacrificed so dearly for our way of life.
