Living with Florida black bears program in Santa Rosa Beach Nov. 9

November 6, 2017

The South Walton Community Council and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are hosting an informative program on Living with Florida Black Bears. The focus of the program is to educate the public about black bears in South Walton County.  You will also learn about the role of FWC in bear management and response to human-bear conflict, steps that can be taken by homeowners to avoid attracting bears, as well as, some guidelines on what to do if you see a bear. There will be a lot of good information for homeowners, those who hike and bike on our forest trails, or for people who just want to know more about our black bears. There will be a Q&A session with FWC staff after the presentation.

The meeting will be held Thursday, November 9th at 6:30 p.m. at The South Walton County Coastal Branch Library, 437 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

This is a public forum and everyone is invited.
