Learn about the early indigenous people who occupied this land all the way through to the 1920s when the park was developed as a private residence for the Hicks family and later turned into a summer retreat for Avondale Textile mill employees and their families. Depending upon availability, there will be the opportunity to go inside historic structures. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
