Guided hike on prescribed fires at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Sept. 15

September 5, 2016

fredDate/time: Thurs., Sept. 15 – 9 – 10 a.m.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to enjoy an informational program about prescribed fires. Prescribed burning is a management tool widely used by foresters, parks departments, range and wildlife managers, ranchers and other landowners to manage excessive natural fuels under very specific and safe conditions. Many states across the United States have a large percentage of public land, making statewide coordinated prescribed burn plans feasible. Prescribed fires at Topsail Hill Preserve ensure we are managing over resources in a way that will actually reduce wildfires, rejuvenate wildlife habitat, provide control of invasive brush and improve watersheds. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to Tram Stop 2. If weather is bad a program will be held in the clubhouse. Standard state park entry fees will apply.

$6.00 entry fee to the park per vehicle. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is located at 7525 W. Scenic Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459. For more information, call (850) 267-8330 ::MAP::
