Director of Nokuse Plantation to kick off this year’s forum

A forum uniting environmental efforts throughout Walton County, will be held Thursday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort.

Created by the Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) New Product Development Committee, the forum unites established environmental groups and organizations to meet and work together for the overall ecological benefit of Walton County.

“The forum provides an important platform to unite individuals from established environmental groups, creating discussion and collaboration that will help each organization more efficiently and effectively reach its goals, said Sonny Mares, TDC executive director.”

Dr. Matt Aresco, director of Nokuse Plantation, will kick off this year’s forum. Based on feedback from last year’s program, the forum will have new format. Twenty eight topics will be explored through roundtable discussions led by a local expert. This setting will allow for more open discussion and networking opportunities.

The forum is open to the public with a registration fee of $10 if paid in advance. Participants may also register at the door from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on November 13 with a registration fee of $15. Registration forms can be obtained from the TDC administrative office at 25777 Highway 331 South, Santa Rosa Beach.
