The City of DeFuniak Springs will be hosting the 4th Annual Energy Expo on Saturday, Nov. 7th at the Walton County Fairgrounds, 790 N 9th St (Highway 83 North).
This year the DeFuniak Springs Special Events Committee has combined with the Walton County Board of County Commissioners who will be sponsoring Amnesty Day. This year you can bring all your items for Amnesty Day and then spend the rest of the day exploring all the exhibits and booths at the Annual Energy Expo.
Shred-It returns this year as well. Bring all those vital records which are ready to be shredded and this great service will take care of them for you courtesy of CH2M.
This service is available to individuals and businesses alike. The only cost for the Shred-It service is a non-perishable food item for the Matrix Community Center. As cold weather approaches, the Matrix needs to restock the shelves for emergencies and needs community assistance.
One Blood will be on-site with their traveling bloodmobile. You can donate to help our local blood supply while visiting the Expo.
Watch a tai chi class or zumba demonstration. Experience the wonders of the farmers market where you can find organic and natural products, local honey and a large variety of fresh produce.
Alternative sources of energy including solar, CNG and geothermal power will be on display as well as builders and contractors demonstrating the most energy-efficient means of construction or renovation.
The Walton County extension service will have several demonstrations and other exciting exhibits for your enjoyment and the WCSO will conduct a flag burning ceremony for damaged or worn U.S. flags.
Food vendors will be on hand as well so no need to leave the fairgrounds to have lunch. Make a full day of this exciting and educational event.
