Welcome to the home of the world’s only stand up paddle race (SUP) dedicated to Spain’s most internationally renowned festiva, Sanfermines. We race in honor Saint Fermin, the co-patron of Pamplona, and the encierro (running of the bulls), their most famous event. Bulls cannot swim, but that will not deter us from taking this festiva to our local waterways. This is the gulf coast’s wildest stand up paddle event!
Encierro De Bordos (The running of the boards) is a SUP event with kids, women, and men’s races. The event is at Senor Mojito’s July 11th, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. There is no entry fee for the race…but there is a catch!
The only requirement is to wear a plain white short sleeve shirt, a red sash around your waist, and a red bandanna around your neck. There will be prizes for best costumes. Registration starts at 4 p.m., races at 5 p.m., and a great festiva all night!
Yolo Board will have demo boards available to use during the event. Encierro De Bordos shirts will be available for purchase, and red sashes and bandannas. Sash and bandanna proceeds go to the SWFD Junior Lifeguard program.
