Container garden lecture in Santa Rosa Beach May 6

April 20, 2015

containergardenThe Walton County Master Gardeners continue the lecture series: “How Does Your Garden Grow?” for the month of May. The top ten (and more) plants for successful container gardening will be the topic.

Nothing brings instant color and interest to a garden like containers can.  Our local climate allows for year round container gardening. Master Gardener, Andrea Schnapp, will discuss successful (and not) annuals, perennials and shrub containers through a PowerPoint presentation. She will also cover designing, locating, maintaining your containers and even making your own potting mix.

The lecture will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. in the Padgett Park Community Room located at 810 JD Miller Road (North off US 98 just West of the intersection with US 331) in Santa Rosa Beach.

These events, structured for the local home gardeners, are free and open to the public.  However, seating is limited, and reservations must be made by the Monday before the event by calling Cheryl at 850-892-8172.  Master Gardeners will be on hand to take gardening questions.  Soil testing and instructions will be available. This is a service of the University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Walton County.
