October 3: MONTHLY MEETING: The Choctawhatchee Audubon Society will present the following program at its regular monthly meeting: Madagascar: Animals and Birds by Lenny Fenimore, Ornithologist. A Dramatic Photo Presentation of the birds, lemurs, chameleons, people and culture of Madagascar.
The meeting will be held in Rm 130 of the Student Services Center at the Niceville campus of Northwest Florida State College and will begin at 6:30 PM with socializing and light refreshments. October 5: Join Audubon at the Explore the Outdoors Festival at Live Oak Landing in Freeport. There will be lots of family fun in a gorgeous area adjacent to Black Creek. October 12: Field trip to Little Creek Woods in northern Walton County hosted by owner Bob Reid. See many upland and migratory species on this beautiful, well-managed tract which Bob has been restoring to its original state. Bring water, insect repellent, outdoor attire, sack lunch and a lawn chair, as there will be an evening bonfire for those who can stay.
