Walton County fishing report for Jan. 8 – Over the top!

Fishing is great! Fishing was over the top at Hogtown Bayou on Jan. 8. The cold snap drove the small baitfish into the bayou and behind it came good size speckled trout and redfish. Fishermen were reeling in as fast as they could cast a line on the bayou. Choctawhatchee Bay: Cold snap had net casters reeling in large catches of mullet. Boat launch and fishing area closing at Clyde B. Wells Bridge Dec. 13

Construction work for the new Clyde B. Wells Bridge on U.S. 331 in Walton County will permanently close the boat launch and fishing area on the southern end of the bridge Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. Plans are to construct and open a new recreation area near this location once the new bridge is completed.
