Learn all about camellias at Eden

Location: Eden Gardens State Park
Sat. Feb. 12, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Eden Gardens State Park and the Friends of Eden Gardens, Inc. would like to invite everyone to the annual Camellia Fest. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch. Festivities begin with talks on Camellia identification, air layering (propagation) and the general maintenance and pest control of Camellias. There will also be floral demonstrations and demonstrations on waxing blossoms. Living history presenters will be demonstrating the skills of past generations; including historical talks, period cooking, turpentining, candle making, butterchurning, old time games and toys, as well as moonshining and blacksmithing. Archaeologists will be speaking on local area history and culture. This event is free; donations to the Friends of Eden will be accepted.
 Park entrance fee is waived for this event.
