Beekkeeper feature speaker at Choctawhatchee Audubon meeting Sept. 6

The next meeting of the Choctawhatchee Audubon Society will be held on Thursday, September 6, and will feature a presentation on the basics of beekeeping by Niceville native, Jim Dietrich. Jim is in the fifth year of a master’s in beekeeping certification through the University of West Florida. His bees produce honey from a variety of local wildflowers, and samples will be available.

This meeting  will be held in Rm 132 of the Student Services Center (SSC 132) on the Niceville Campus of Northwest Florida State College. It begins at 6:30 p.m. with socializing and refreshments, with the program occurring at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is free and open to all who have an interest in birds and nature.  For more information , please call Walt Spence at (850) 582-7064.
