Alaqua Animal Refuge furever friend of the week

November 4, 2012

Everyone deserves a second chance, and Jerry is no exception. An extremely gregarious and good-humored dog, Jerry became such a superstar after he arrived at Alaqua Animal Refuge that he was chosen to take part in our Unconditional Love Project. This program pairs rescue dogs with inmates at Bay County Correctional, where prisoners work with a canine companion on socialization and obedience skills over a period of 4-6 weeks. Now that Jerry has completed that training, he is back at the refuge and very eager to meet the new forever family he knows is out there waiting for him. Jerry is a Basenji/Rat Terrier mix with a trim tan coat, amazingly handsome ears and a tail that ends in a quirky curl. He really loves his playtime with the other Alaqua dogs, and walks very well indeed on a leash. A four legged friend who has much to offer, this delightful guy will do his best every day to make his special someone proud and happy. If you’re in need of some unconditional love (and who isn’t) Jerry is hoping you’ll come to Alaqua Animal Refuge and give him the second chance he longs for and deserves.
