Special feline looking for a holiday home

This is the time of year when angels abound, and at Alaqua Animal Refuge we have more than a few of these beautiful beings in our midst.  One angel in particular shines like the Christmas star.  He even has a heavenly name — Gabriel.  Although he’s only six months old, this little cat has already been through a lot.  Found living at a gas station, Gabriel kept himself alive by drinking water from dirty puddles and eating whatever he could scrounge up from trash cans.  He also had a serious problem with his right front leg.  It had either been broken and left untreated, or it was the result of a birth defect.  Instead of his paw, Gabriel was walking on the joint.  When even the medical staff was unable to fix the problem, it was decided that the best alternative for this courageous little cat was to have the leg removed.  In spite of all these hardships, Gabriel has the disposition of his namesake.  He is sweet, affectionate, and doesn’t let his handicap keep him from engaging in the usual feline fun.  He is very grateful to have fresh water, plenty of food and a cozy place to sleep, but he also longs for a loving forever home.  By adopting this very special angel cat, you’ll keep the spirit of Christmas alive in your heart all year long.  Besides, it’s so comforting to know that you’ll always have an angel on your shoulder.

If you would like to adopt Gabriel or any of the other available friends, contact Alaqua Animal Refuge at 850-880-6399 or go online at www.aarflorida.com.
