911Take a moment to remember the firefighters and law enforcement that lost their lives on September 11, 2001

The South Walton Fire District (SWFD) would like to invite members of the community to take a moment out of their busy day and join us in a moment of remembrance tomorrow September 11, 2009. The members of the Christian International congregation have put together a short program to remember and honor those firefighters and law enforcement personnel whom have given their lives so that others may live.

“that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion” – Abraham Lincoln

September 11 at 9:00 a.m., members of Walton County are cordially invited to gather at the “Purple Heart” Monument located adjacent to the County Annex on Hwy 331 for a brief memorial.  There will be a moment of silence to respect the fallen and to give thanks for those who answer the call every day.  The ceremony will conclude with the singing of God Bless America lead by Rhonda Skipper, Walton County Tax Collector.
