Gulf recreational red snapper season begins June 1

Season runs June 1 – July 14 The 2013 Gulf of Mexico recreational red snapper season begins June 1 in state and federal waters. This year’s state season is 44 days long and will be open through July 14 with the first day of the closure being July 15. The federal season off Florida will be 26 days long. Community clean up day at Choctaw Beach June 8

On Saturday, June 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., District 4 Commissioner Sara Comander will be hosting a community clean-up day at Choctaw Beach Park on State Road 20 in the Choctaw Beach Community.
