Health advisory issued for Johnson Beach and nearby areas along Choctawhatchee Bay

Walton County – Due to a sewage spill in the Miramar Beach area of Walton County the Walton County Health Department is issuing a health advisory from Legion County Park west to Bay Bridge Landing in the Choctawhatchee Bay. Sample results exceed the Environmental Protection Agency recommended standards for fecal coliform. Walton County Sheriff’s office hosting woman’s self defense course Aug. 28, 29 and 30

A free self defense training seminar is being offered for women by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. The dates are Aug. 28, 29, and 30 from 5-9 p.m. at the South Walton Substation, 33 S. Fishing is great, hunters warming up for bow season Choctawhatchee Bay: Folks catching a good bit of redfish and trout near Hogtown bayou. Black drum near the causeway and the shipwreck. Creeks/river: Catfish biting in the river. Folks catching bream fly fishing with popping bugs. Offshore: Folks are catching everything out there!
