FWC firming up seasons for recreational Gulf red snapper, gag grouper, greater amberjack The recreational harvest season for red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico will open on June 1. The recreational seasons for gag grouper and greater amberjack in the Gulf of Mexico will close on May 31. Cessna Park boat ramp now open

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend! The Cessna Park boat ramp has reopened on County Road 393 at Hogtown Bayou. Recently completed improvements include a new ramp and two L-shaped loading docks on each side of the ramp. In addition, there is a new smaller dock adjacent to the two loading docks.   Fishing is good, river is low! Surf: Still some pompano and whiting being caught surf fishing. Bay: Redfish has been through the roof along with a good bit of trout and flounder.
