Walton County fishing report for Mar. 31

A few cobia are starting to show up! Fresh/Bay: Bass is being caught in the ponds. Crappie everywhere, catfish and sheepshead along the causeways. Some redfish, scattered trout as there is still a lot of fresh water pushing them west, scattered redfish. Saltwater: Temperatures are starting to rise and a few cobia and pompano are being caught. Recreational and commercial harvest of shallow-water groupers remains closed until May 1 The recreational harvest of grouper in all Gulf of Mexico waters off Florida, except in all waters of Monroe County, reopens on April 1. Local artists embellish emu eggs to benefit Alaqua Animal Refuge

23 emu eggs to be auctioned on ebay 23 locals showed their artistic talent recently to benefit Alaqua Animal Rescue. A rescued Emu at Alaqua donated the eggs which were painted, carved and embellished in a variety of fashion for the cause. The eggs will be auctioned off on eBay April 2, 3 and 4 with all the proceeds going to Alaqua.  Currently the eggs are on display at the Harborwalk Village Alaqua Animal Refuge location for those interested in...
