Double red flags means water is closed to the public

The affects of tropical storm Debby hit South Walton’s beaches on June 24, 2012. Strong rip currents are along the water’s edge in addition to beach erosion from the storm.

“Double red flags means stay out of the water,” said Gary Wise, South Walton Fire District’s beach safety director.

Enjoy the beach away from the water’s edge. Do not put yourself or the lifeguards at risk. Strong rip currents are expected to continue through Wednesday.
